Resize partitions using Gparted

Kamis, 03 April 2014

Ok... today I tried to install some software on my laptop and I had a very nice surprise: I didnt had enough space on "root" partitions. True, I only allocated 10Gb for "root" and I installed all my programs there!
So what to do?
  1. I took one of my Linux Live CDs and I booted up.
  2. Open Gparted
  3. Turned swap off
  4. Shrink one of partitions to obtain some unallocated space, in my case, I shrunk "/home" partitions with 10Gb.
  5. Resize the "/" partition whit 10 Gb.
And some screenshots, I didnt finished the process but its very simple. Also I must say that I indicate to create some backups of your data bedore doing this operations (I didnt do and I hope I didnt lose any datas).
